Little Tweaks, Big Feel

I did it all of it on my phone, a sunday afternoon under the sun. Wow.

I added auto-focus to the input, arrow-key history, better error messages, and tightened up accessibility. Little things that just make it feel smoother.

Then I brought the chat to life with a typewriter-style streaming effect.

I also built custom code blocks with syntax highlighting and a copy button, tossed in avatars for clarity, and added a hover-action toolbar that’s clean and useful.

None of it was huge on its own, but together it turned a plain UI into something I’m actually proud to use.

And I also iterate on the original welcome message was trying way too hard. One long sentence packed with info, but zero flow.

So I rewrote it.

Now it leads with what the chatbot is, follows with how it works, and ends with clear calls to action. A short sign-off adds a personal touch.

It’s easier to read. It makes sense. And it invites people in without overwhelming them.

Small change. Big difference.
